An agent is typically involved in the relationship between Web site publishers and advertisers. Agents will do the matching so that both parties benefit from the arrangement. Agents are also in charge of negotiations between the two parties, acting as a middle man. Pricing for co-registration will either be cost per lead (CPL), cost-per-click (CPC), or cost per acquisition (CPA.) The cost per lead and cost per click methods are the most popular because of their simplicity, while cost per acquisition is used for tracking leads.
